In March, our Enactus team successfully built the prototype of the aquaponics system close to Stuttgart. The prototype was built within 3 days (!) and is now up and running, growing vegetables and fish!
In late March we were invited to the final of “European Student Startups”, a competition backed and organized by the London School of Economics, Simmons & Simmons and many more! Amazingly we placed THIRD while being the only social, non-profit startup which makes us really proud. Check out their website.
As soon as we came back from London we were notified that we won at the Yooweedoo Contest, rewarding us with capital and business advice! Check out their website.
This weekend ( 09.04.2017 ) our project leader Alex is flying to Indonesia to train Dede, our first aquaponics operator, and to choose more target communities together with our social partner, the Wadah Foundation.
While this is happening our Africa Business Unit is flying to Togo and Uganda building the first aquaponic-systems of this kind! With our special knowledge transfer concept the locals will be empowered to build and operate our systems. With those systems 90 people will overcome malnutrition sustainably by this summer!
